Peter Molinari, 83 of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Gaspare and Madeline Molinari.
Mr. Molinari was an inspector with the Federal Aviation Administration, an accomplished artist, and a lover of classical music, especially the opera. He was a true patriot who served in WWII, the Normandy Invasion. He was active in local and national politics, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Huntington Post, in New York.
Mr. Molinari is survived by his wife, Jean M. Molinari; daughters, Barbara Smith and her husband Brian, and Nancy Maahs and her husband, Robert, both of Fairfax; son, Charles C. White, Locust Grove; and brother, Dr. Dominick Molinari and his wife Judy of New Jersey.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday, March 14, 2009 in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
