Ray Charles "Sonny" Sexton, 22 of Spotsylvania came to rest Monday September 21 2020. He was born December 22 1997 to Edward Ray Sexton and Kimberly Anne (Willetts) Sexton, and brought home Christmas Eve to his doting sisters, Holly Willetts and Rachel Sexton.

Ray, called Sonny after his late paternal grandfather, is known for his genuine, kind character and manners. From a very young age he always received praise for this. As he aged, he never lost that character. A soul was never left in pain, or need of a friend if he was around. He will always be our inspiration to treat each other and everyone with respect and love.

Every moment of his life was an opportunity for fun, jokes, non sense and chaos. Normal wasn't enough and he ensured time with him felt anything but average. Life to him should be limitless; he hated any limit in his way. We find comfort in his soul existing now, in a boundless endless journey.

Aside from the aforementioned family Ray leaves behind niece Stella Anne Haga.  Her birth took him from protected boy-hood, into man-hood. He more than rose to the occasion of taking care of her, and Stella will very sorely miss her Uncle Son Son.  His beloved dogs Bear and Josie mourn with us, and his surviving extended family including Judith G. Willetts of Va., Charles E. Willetts and family of California.  He also leaves behind his aunt Susan Renee Smith and cousins Elizabeth Browne, Julie Rae Smith, Samuel Hirt as well as 60+ extended family members who all loved him dearly.

Ray's friends have been a saving grace in our healing process, and we as a family, send unending love and and gratitude to all of those lives that touched, and were touched by our Sonny. Services will be held at a later date.
