Col. Richard David Boyd, 79, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, VA, passed away Thursday June 23, 2005 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA.
Col. Boyd was a retired career Army officer serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantrymen's Badge, the Purple Heart and the Silver Star during his service.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia M. Boyd, his daughter and her husband, Linda B. and Robert M. Miller, of Skippack, PA, his two granddaughters and their husbands; Stacey M. and Kenneth J. O'Toole, of Norfolk, VA and Megan M. and Joshua C. Dempsey, of Dumfries, VA, his great granddaughter, Addison Dempsey and also his brother, William F. Boyd, of San Diego, CA.
A Graveside Service will be conducted, with full military honors, at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 7th, 2005 at 3:00 PM. Laurel Hill Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
