Richard Allen Rice, 58 of Fredericksburg passed away at home on Monday September 18, 2017. Richard was born on August 17, 1959 to Harold Thomas and Kathleen Myrtle (Herzer) Rice in Bellvue, PA. He moved to the Spotsylvania area 40 years ago with his family from Pennsylvania. Richard was an auto mechanic at Goodyear Tire Service for many years. Survivors include four brothers; Thomas, Kenneth (Mary), Kevin, Carl (Marlene); two sisters; Barbara Hall (Jerry), Patricia (Patty) Ramsey and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy. Visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm and from 10 am to 11 am Saturday September 23, 2017 with funeral service to follow at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter at 450 TV drive Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
