Robert Neal Barrett III (aka Bob or Bobby), 75, of Fairfax passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18t h at the Veteran Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Robert served honorably in the United States Army from 1965-1968 and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his service he studied computer systems at Prince George's Community College and The University of Maryland. Through his hard work and dedication he rose through the ranks and became the Vice President of Systems at Guernsey Office Products, Inc. where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 2007.
Over the course of his life Bob was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, birdwatching, gardening, eating crabs and photography. He looked forward to going to his granddaughters' sports activities, especially soccer, and taking numerous photos, talking stocks with his son Brian or participating in his son Brad's video skits. On a rainy day he loved watching movies and tinkering on his computers....as long as they were made by Apple.
Robert is predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Hilda and Neal Barrett, his father Robert Barrett and his mother Dorothy Mohr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Charlotte Barrett; children Brian Neal of Burke, VA, Bradley John of Fairfax, VA, Sandra Michelle Overman (Dean) of Nokesville, VA; granddaughter Keira Maureen Overman of Nokesville VA; sisters Mary Helen Hildebrand of Locust Grove, VA, Deborah Folks of Sebastian, FL, Donna Holley of Eustis, FL, Linda Larkins of Clearwater, FL; four nieces, one nephew as well as other extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1 PM.

501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA. (park in front of the brick building by the restrooms) The cemetery representative will lead you over to the service location.
