Robert "Bob" Ellwood Hildebrand, 77, of Locust Grove passed away on Thursday October 29, 2015 at his home.
Robert was born on February 3 1938 to Frank Elwood and Josephine Elizabeth (Phipps) Hildebrand, in Washington, D.C. Robert married M. Helen Barrett on August 7, 1970 in Upper Marlboro, MD.
A fan of Washington Redskins and looked forward to football season. For many years he and his wife had a getaway home at Falling Waters, WV where he could enjoy weekends relaxing and fishing. His hobbies were repairing electronics of various kinds and strumming on his guitar, his favorite group being The Ventures. For most of his life he enjoyed music and even had his own band with his brothers in his younger years. Always had a cup of coffee in his hands and a bowl of M&Ms on his end table. Bob was a man of simple pleasures that always put the needs of family and friends before his own. He was a kind and gentle soul and always knew exactly what he wanted in life. His world revolved around his wife and he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bob began his career as an Electronics Technician in the Navy that included service in Vietnam. Spent most of his adult, married life in Southern Maryland where he owned his own TV Sales & Repair shop for about 12 years. Bob left private industry at 40 to work at Naval Ordnance Station at Indian Head MD from 1983 until retirement in 2002. Bob and Helen moved to Virginia in2005.
