Robert "Bob" Allen Hetrick, 76, formerly of Newmarket, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 24, 2017 in Fredericksburg, VA. After graduation from high school, Bob joined the US Air Force, serving from June 1959 to June 1963. He married Roseanne Ducharme on August 28, 1965 in Newmarket NH. Bob began working at the Portsmouth Navy Ship Yard and retired in 1994 as a pipefitter after 28 years. During that time, he coached little league baseball, served as a volunteer fireman (1975-1996) played soft ball, basketball and enjoyed golf. Bob always offered a helping hand to those that needed it. He and his wife Roseanne moved to Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, Va in 2002. Survivors include; his wife of 51 years, Roseanne; son, Jeff and wife, Michelle; two grandchildren, Jordan and Cody and a great grandson, Mason. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with family receiving friends one hour prior. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Park with U.S. Air Force Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lake of the Woods Volunteer Fire Department.
