Robert V. Hines, 72, of Lake of the Woods, passed away Friday March 25, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was a graduate of West Virginia University, a Korean War Air Force Veteran and was retired, as a Patent Examiner, from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Crystal City. He was a member of Benjamin B. French Masonic Lodge #15 F.A.A.M.; a past Grand Commander, Knights of Templar; National Chairman of the Easter Sunrise Service, Grand Encampment, Knights Templar of the United States of America; and a 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite Chapter, Washington, D.C.
Mr. Hines is survived by his wife, Sue Carroll Hines, four sons, Michael V. Hines of Temple Hills, MD., Brian V. Hines of Seaford, DE., Dr. Andrew F. Horne of Kitty Hawk, NC and David W. Horne of Kodiak, AK, one daughter, Rebecca Elliott of Claremore, OK, a brother Edward Hines of Mexico, MO. a sister, Cecelia Coven of Stow, OH, seven grandchildren; William and Taryn Hines, Andrew and Melissa Horne, Kyle and Hannah Elliott, and Brittany Horne, and by a cousin, Karen Nichodemas.
A funeral service will be conducted at Lake of the Woods Church Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 11:00 am. Rev. Robert Regan will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at Quantico National Cemetery on Wednesday, April 6, 2005.
