William Robert Newton, 93, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. He was born May 8, 1927, the eldest child of the late Robert Ashby and Sarah Agnes Newton. He was predeceased by Louise, his loving wife of 63 years, his brothers: Leroy, Earl, and Sidney and a sister, Helen.
He was a WWll veteran. He retired from C&P Telephone Company and immediately went to work at Spotsylvania Emergency Concerns Association (SECA) for 35 years. He was a long-time member of Tabernacle Methodist Church in Chancellor. Robert loved being outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and traveling in his motor home. He was always optimistic and never met a stranger.
Left to cherish his memory is a son, William Robert Newton, Jr. "Bobby" (Ginny), two daughters: Catherine (Dave) and Jerri (Mike), grandchildren: Tina Hodgson (Brian), Mike Galyen, Cindy Galyen (Nick Martinez), Sarah Greene (Sam) and Jessica Joyner (John). He was especially fond of his great grandchildren: Siri Buenviaje, Lee Buenviaje and Mia Joyner. They adored Great Granddaddy, and always looked forward to his visits in his motor home. His hugs were the best.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Paramount Senior Living Facility for the care they provided for Mr. Robert.
