Ronald L. Reid, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Born on May 9, 1941, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, he was the son of J.B. and Helen Clyde Reid.
Ronald enjoyed spending time with loved ones. He was known for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and his love of cooking.
Ronald spent much of his working life in the construction industry, and finished his career as a delivery driver for Lowe’s.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Reid; his stepson, Michael Randell; his parents, J.B. and Helen Clyde Reid; and siblings, Hattie Pearl Parker and Carlton Reid.
Ronald leaves behind several family members to cherish his memory: his sisters Judy Herring (Ed) and Becky White, his daughters, Kimberly Ludlam (Mike) and Teresa Haislip (Jeff); his stepdaughter, Laurie (Tim); his grandchildren, Josh Lammonds (Janica), Ben Lammonds, Jonah Randell, Elijah Randell, Max Randell, Reid Haislip (Kelly), Tommy Branch (April), Zachary Ludlam, and Wes Ludlam; as well as several great-grandchildren.
Ronald will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and witty sense of humor.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones who went before him.
A Graveside Service will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16 at noon.
