Grandchildren are: Maggie Bower, Daniel Bower, Ben Bower, Ali Bower, Andrew Thornberg, Emma Thornberg, Molly Thornberg, Ella Thornberg, Calvin Thornberg, Jake Prevo and Matt Prevo. Ron's three great granddaughters are: Heidi Thornberg, Holly Thornberg and Grayson Gheen.
Ron was born in Washington, D.C. on January 4, 1939, and grew up in Arlington, VA where he was a member of the Wakefield High School class of 1956. He worked for Capital Airlines, then United Airlines for 25 years before starting his own business, Round Hill Reproductions, a custom cabinet shop, in Montross, VA. He retired to Spotsylvania in 1999.
A self taught craftsman, there was little Ron couldn't do. He could fix your car, fix your toaster or build you a house. If he didn't know how to do something, he'd learn how in no time. He designed and built two homes and remodeled another . He could design a kitchen and install it himself, create a wire sculpture or build you a piece of custom furniture. He loved being outdoors cutting firewood or just puttering in the yard. He was an excellent writer, and he enjoyed completing a genealogy on his mother's family. Perhaps this quiet, unassuming man was a true renaissance man.
Those of us who knew and loved him will never forget him. Ron's family requests that anyone wishing to remember him do so via a gift to the Wounded Warrior Project.
