Rose M. Spears, 80 of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late George and Monterey Runyon Lacy.
Mrs. Spears was a homemaker, who in her earlier years, enjoyed bowling and making ceramics. She was strong willed and independent, but with a soft demeanor. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Spears, Jr.; one brother, George Lacy; and two sisters, Lillian Herr and Peggy Masoner.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Mae Noakes and her husband Ronald, Joan Marie Presutti, and Adriene Joyce Embrey and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Gary Noakes, Steve Noakes, Chris Noakes, Charity Hartwell, Shaun Presutti, Sherry Presutti, Gordon Embrey and his fianc Suzanne Oakes, and Stacy Embrey; great grandchildren, Stevie Noakes, Jessica Noakes, Zackery Noakes, Dalton Hartwell, Joy Noakes, Cheyenne Noakes, Dante Presutti, Bella Presutti, Tyler Berkhart, Victoria Ray Oakes, Corey Bouffard, and Hunter Embrey; brothers, Raymond Lacy, Franklin Lacy, William Lacy and James Lacy; sisters, Betty Rankin, Doris Heflin, and Lydia Brooks.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am Friday, January 22, 2010 in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Forrester officiating. The graveside service and interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home.
