Roy Melvin Saylor, Jr., 39, of Fredericksburg, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 in INOVA Fairfax Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Saylor was a 1985 graduate of Woodbridge High School and was employed by Century Tile, in Alexandria, as a ceramic tile setter. He was known by everyone as a fighter, loved life and was a "rock" to everyone.
He was the son of the late Roy Melvin Saylor, Sr. and is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Saylor, his devoted daughters; Nikki and Sierra Saylor, his mother Vada G. Saylor of Caldwell WV, his brother, Jerry W. Saylor of Caldwell, WV, his two sister's in law, Amber Legge of Manassas and Crystal Mozingo of Fredericksburg, his aunt, Paula Hall and his uncles, Raynard and Henry Saylor of WV, Tony Saylor of IA and Bobby Shope of WV, also many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his aunt, Carolyn Vance.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. Burial will be Saturday, February 4, at Highland Park Church Cemetery, Second Creek, WV following a service at Longenacre Funeral Home, Fairlea, WV at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 6:30PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
