Obituary

Just days shy of her 94th trip around the sun, and after a gallant fight with complications from a fall; the nighttime sky acquired a new sparkling, bright star on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. As we bid a tearful goodbye to his mom, their nanny, aunt, great grandmother, everyone's friend, my mother in-law, and self proclaimed lamb of God; Sally Ann Dean Pleasants joins her parents, and siblings; her husband, their son, his father, their papa, and all our family and friends who've passed before her for the celebration of her lifetime ...
A lifelong Virginia resident "Ms Sally" was born in Louisa County on the 23rd of July in 1925. The youngest daughter of Charlie & Alice Dean she returns home to them and her siblings Clarence Dean, Grover Dean, Lucy Dean McLeod, Lizzy Dean Hall, and Jenny Dean Faulkner.
Soon after graduating high school she married the love of her life Alex Pleasants and now joins him in an eternal embrace along with their first born son Charles Hart Pleasants. For 38+ years Sally Pleasants was the face of Woodmont Nursing Home where she provided facility tours, performed admissions, and was crowned Queen of customer service. And though she also held jobs in the office at Chancellor Elementary and as a teller at Farmers & Merchants Bank, being Alex's wife, CH and Bills mom Jessica, Logan, & Caitlyn's great grandmother and most especially Karly & Billy's Nanny were her favorite titles.
She remained extremely involved at Tabernacle Church for as long as her health allowed, partook in post high school continuing education classes, acted as a free notary public to anyone in need for 40+ years and even became a CNA in her 70's so she could help better care for the patients at Woodmont many who were younger than her.
Sally is survived by her son William (Bill)Pleasants (and wife Phyllis Botelho Pleasants), granddaughter Karly Pleasants Silkensen (and husband Scott Silkensen), grandson William (Billy) Thomas Pleasants Jr, and 3 great grandchildren Jessica, Logan, and Caitlyn. Daughter-in-law Sue McGhee Pleasants And a nephew Thomas Pleasants Jr.
