Shirley A. Nicholson, 77, of Spotsylvania passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Sunday, January 13, 2019.  Shirley was born on July 4, 1941 to Marshall and Lucille (Blakely) Davenport in Rhoadesville, VA.  She married Curtis W. Nicholson on April 12, 1958, Curtis preceded her in death in June 2017.  Shirley devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of Wilderness Baptist Church.  Survivors include her sons Tony (Bonnie), Roy (June); three daughters Melissa Bruce (Steve), Bonny Whaling (Gary), Wanda Spiker (Jim); one brother Tommy Davenport; three sisters Lora Helm, Agnes Finchum, Beverly Richards (Alton); 7 grandchildren Steven (Courtney), Dewayne (Brittnie), Frankie, Gary (Katlyn), Travis (Kelly), Tony, TK and six great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm, at Laurel Hill funeral home and funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18 2019 at 11am at Wilderness Baptist Church with Pastor Amos Healy and Pastor Rick Ritchie officiating.  Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
