Stanley Walter Tomaszewski, 81, of Lake of the Woods area in Locust Grove, Va. passed away on Saturday May 4, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born on August 25, 1931 to Stanley Andrew and Regina (Wroblewski) Tomaszewski in Buffalo, NY. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from Jan. 1951 to Jan. 1954. Stanley married Dorothy J. Kozlowski on Aug. 8, 1953 in Buffalo, NY.
He received a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from the University of Buffalo.
He worked across the United States for various companies as an Industrial Engineer, finally retiring from Abbott 1996. He remained active by participating in the Veterans Games and Senior Games, winning medals in running, walking, golf and other events.
Survivors include: his wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy; 2 Sons; David and wife Tammy,
Paul and wife Shirley; 2 daughters, Ginny and husband David Vickers, Kathy and husband Bill Oliver; 5 grandchildren; Kristen, Kasha, Joshua, Trisha and Tina. 5 great grandchildren Ethan, McKenna, Alex, Anna, and Ava. He was preceded in death by 1 great granddaughter, Samantha.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013 with prayer service at 7 pm, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, Va. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am, Monday
May 13, 2013 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Culpeper, Va. with Reverend Anselme Malonda-Nkuanga officiating. Burial will follow in the Culpeper National Cemetery.
