Sue Lee was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Leslie Lee on Sunday evening, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mrs. Lee was born in Coalwood, West Virginia, on July 28, 1943, and grew up in McDowell County, graduating from Iaeger High School in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart that summer and moved to Northern Virginia where she worked as a telephone operator in DC. She held many jobs including school bus driver, Stafford Elementary School cafeteria manager, secretary for the Army Materiel Command and owner/manager of Courthouse Grocery in Stafford. However, her true calling was raising her family and being a grandma to her own grandchildren and many others. Mrs. Lee's hobbies included cooking and gardening and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her children, Crystal Lee Harmon, Tammy Lee York, John Leslie Lee and Cyndi Lee Del Corso and her husband Dave. Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren, Billy Gene Harmon, III, Lindsay Jill Harmon, Michael Jeffrey York, Amanda Michelle York, Anna Grace Lee and David Anthony Del Corso, Jr.
Mrs. Lee's other survivors include her sisters Vicki Lockhart McBride, Rhonda Lockhart Heath and Lori Lockhart Clark and her brother David Lockhart. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents Thurman and Dorothy Lockhart and her brother Roger Lockhart.
Mrs. Lee's legacy of love will live forever in the hearts of those that knew her.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd. Spotsylvania. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday February 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
