Susan Elaine Davenport, Captain, USAF, Ret., 59, of Fredericksburg passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Friday, April 10, 2015. Susan was very proud of her service in the Air Force, having joined in November 1978 and retiring as a captain in December 1998. She moved to the Fredericksburg area from Beale AFB upon retirement. Susan married Michael John Lydon on October 21, 2008. Survivors include her husband, Mike; son, Adam Davenport Goolsby; sister Sandra Cooklock; grandson, Timothy Goolsby; 2 nieces, 2 great nephews, and a great niece. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, from 1 pm to 3 pm, with the Service of Remembrance beginning at 3 pm. Military honors will be presented by the USAF Honors Team.
