Terry Gleen Miller (1965 – 2026), age 61, passed away peacefully in Inova Fairfax Hospital with his daughter by his side on August 28th 2026, leaving behind a legacy of music, craftsmanship, and profound love for his family and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Willie M. Miller and Wanda M. Miller; his sister, Pamela L. Stebbins; and his grandmother, Nellie M. Smith.

Terry spent his life mastering both his trades and his passions. For many years, he worked diligently as a skilled tile worker and as a dedicated pressman for the newspaper, bringing precision and hard work to everything he touched.

Music was where Terry truly connected with the world. As an exceptional bass player, he was naturally an introvert in day-to-day life—quiet, observant, and gentle. However, the moment he stepped onto a stage with his bass in hand, he came alive. His commanding presence and musical passion revealed his inner fire, earning him the well-deserved reputation of being simply the coolest guy around.

Above all, Terry wanted to be remembered as someone who loved and cared deeply for the people in his life. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda King; his sister, Cherri Bragunier; and his brother, Jeffrey Miller. In addition, Terry leaves behind a large extended family, including an aunt, a great-aunt, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

He played bass in many different bands over the years, forming deep bonds with a wide circle of musical friends and blessed with many other lifelong friends who meant the world to him. Among all his bandmates, Jim Hunt held a truly special place—standing by Terry as his closest friend and embracing his daughter as one of his own.

Terry’s warmth, protective nature, and cool spirit will live on through the music he made and the generations of family and friends he cherished so dearly. He touched countless lives with his kind heart and quiet strength, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
