Thera Coral Stevens, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 21, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Thera was born Oct. 3, 1911 in Oklahoma, lived most of her life in California and moved with family to Virginia in 1999.
Mrs. Stevens was a master gardener, horticulturist, florist, herbologist, prize winning flower arranger, President and member of several garden clubs, bird lover, antique collector, gem and mineral expert, loved to crochet, was named So. Cal. Woman of the Year 1994 for her tireless charitable spirit, member of the Baptist Church and a wonderful friend of many.
Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by her husband of 54 yrs., William Ray Stevens. She leaves her only son Gary and his wife, Gail of Lake of the Woods and her grandchildren: Lance, Todd (deceased), Shawn, Anna and Aimee plus 5 great-grandchildren. Born one of 11 children, she is also survived by one brother, Garlin and sisters Winona, Georgia, Veda, Joy, Mary Lou and several nieces and nephews.
