Thomas Arthur Baldwin, 50 of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Bethesda, Maryland he was the son of William Thomas and Helen S. Baldwin.
Tommy was a graduate of Stafford High School, and enjoyed a long successful career as an automobile salesman, having worked for Radley Chevrolet for over 25 years. He loved sports, especially the Washington Redskins, as well as boating and eating crabs. An avid animal lover, Tommy devoted much of his time to volunteering at local animal shelters.
In addition to his parents, Tommy is survived by a sister, Candy Burgess and her husband, Randy; two brothers, both of California, Sonny Baldwin and his wife Kelly, and Billy Baldwin; stepmother, Laura Baldwin; stepsisters, Gaynel McGill, Cheryl McCary, and Joyette Cole; stepbrother, Daniel McCary; special friend, Jeannie Duris; his beloved kitty, Chloe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Amos Healy officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon till 1:00pm, prior to the service.
A second service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter, 450 TV Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408; the Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic, 452 TV Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 or to the animal shelter of choice.
Tommy and his family are in the care of Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania.
