Van George LaVigne, 66 of Fredericksburg passed away Friday Jan. 25, 2013 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Van was born on October 8, 1946 to George Thomas and Beverly Virginia (Van Rensler) LaVigne in Ogdensburg, NY.
He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy; St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing and St. Joseph Hospital School of Anesthesia for Nurses in Lancaster, Pa.
Van married Susan Annette McNally on Aug. 21, 1971 and she survives.
He has lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1989 coming from Ogdensburg, NY.
He was a Nurse Anesthetist at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1655 and the Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 875, of Fredericksburg;
Fraternal Order of Eagles #4391 of Spotsylvania; Knights of Columbus of Ogdensburg, NY and the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Brad T. LaVinge and 1 grandson Braden Van LaVigne.
Visitation will be held Monday Jan. 28, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home with funeral services held on Tuesday Jan. 29, 2013 at 1 pm at the funeral home and interment following in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
