Vernelia Annette Cramer (1934 - 2025)
Vernelia Annette Cramer passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones and went to be with her Heavenly Father.
Vernelia was born the oldest of two children to Frederick and Melva Giles in Richland County, Wisconsin on December 19, 1934.
She met the love of her life, Donald Cramer at South Division High School, Milwaukee Wisconsin and they were married on June 20, 1953, at St Martini Church, Milwaukee Wisconsin.
While living on base at Quantico VA, during Donald's last tour of duty, Vernelia worked for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, a non-profit organization providing assistance to military members and their families. From there she worked many years at Triangle Recapping as the office assistant for the local tire business.
Vernelia was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church for over 50 years. During that time, she had many teaching roles to include Sunday School, Confirmation, Bible Study and Vacation Bible School. She also served in many other church functions as Church Secretary, Alter Care and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). Throughout the years Verni enjoyed cake decorating and making countless handmade craft creations. Everyone who knew Verni knew she was a true servant of God, prayer warrior, and had a gift and passion for teaching.
Vernelia lived a rich and full life with her husband of 70 years and in that time, with God's blessing, she had five very special children.
Vernelia is survived by her Children Deborah Haarman, Katherine Huffman, Tina Goolesby (Timothy), David Cramer (Cindy), Grandchildren Annette Mann (Jason), Chad Cramer, Christina Haarman, Missy Ferary, Daniel Huffman (Danielle), John Haarman III, Kimberly Foster (Nick), Kerri Stalvey (Joshua), Emma Joynes (Derick), Zeal Goolesby, Ques Goolesby and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Vernelia is preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Leroy Cramer, her father Frederick Giles, her mother Melva Giles, Sister Virginia Chapman, Son Donald Cramer II, Granddaughter Barbara Haarman and Son-in-laws Charles Huffman and John Haarman Jr.
Those who wish to remember Vernelia in a special way may send flowers to Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553 or donate to St Jude Children's Hospital. Viewing will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 12:00pm, service to follow at 1:00pm and graveside burial at 2:00pm. Reception to follow in the Funeral Home Hall.
