Violet Eleanor Hickenbottom, 101, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on Monday, 24 July 2017, at home with family by her side. Violet was born on 7 July 1916 in Uniontown, PA to Ed and Ica Coleman. She graduated from High School, married and had 5 children.

Violet worked as a caregiver and cook for many years. In 1988 she moved to Virginia and has been in the Fredericksburg area since 2003. Violet was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Pittsburgh, PA and then in Arlington, VA. She sang in the choir, was the story teller for children, and helped in the kitchen. Her cooking is legendary - yum yum.

Violet is survived by her son, Larry Hoskin (Patty), 22 grandchildren, 100+ great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Her husband; two sons, two daughters, and one sister preceded her in death.
