Walter Allen Palmer (Age 91) of Unionville, VA, passed away peacefully to his Heavenly home Sunday, April 24, 2022. He was born May 18, 1930 during the Depression and blessed to find a home with the Palmer family who later adopted him.
He enjoyed all the adventures that only a farm boy could dream of and was happy and strong.
In 1951-1952 he served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, Austria and Italy. In 1953 he married his one and only Erlene Marie Fletcher and was adored by her and his girls. His main joy was being with his family. He loved the outdoors, animals, working in his yard, telling stories, watching the Gunsmoke channel and living by his favorite quote from Lonesome Dove, "It's not about dying, it's about living." He loved working and retired from General Motors in Fredericksburg in 1995.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Susan M. Palmer, son-in-law, Timothy Easton Morris, sister, Sandra Gail Palmer Carpenter, and brother, Richard Alexander Palmer. Walter is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 63 years, Erlene Marie Fletcher Palmer, daughter, Bonnie Faye Morris and parents, Elsie Mae and Allen Palmer.
Walter wanted to leave lasting words of wisdom…..
