Obituary

Wanda "Sue" Boatright, 76, of Stafford County departed this earth on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Big Stone Gap, VA, Sue was raised by her Grandparents Ransom Bishop and Emma Minor Bishop. They were affectionately known to Sue as "Daddy & Mommy." Sue graduated from Powell Valley High School in Big Stone Gap, VA. Later she met and married Teddy Ray Boatright. Sue furthered her education by attending Eastern Shore Community College in Melfa, VA, and Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City, OK.

Sue was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she started as an Agent, in law enforcement; she later was promoted and retired as a Personnel Security Specialist.

Sue loved traveling. She most enjoyed the Blues festivities, in Memphis, TN and visiting Elvis' birthplace.

Sue was preceded in death by her late husband Teddy Ray Boatright, her devoted friend Bernadette Lewis, and her brother Billy Romans.

Survivors include her mother Virginia Ruth Huff of Detroit, MI, her siblings Judy (Steve) Ware, Inez Marie (Nick) Rissman, Emma Jean (Chuck) Romans, and Diane Romans, brothers Bobby (Gerelene) Romans and John Romans, all of Detroit, MI, several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Laurel Hill Memorial Chapel at 12:00 noon. The viewing will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00am – 12:00 noon.
