Wayne J. Dovel, 76, passed away in Fredericksburg, VA on January 28, 2024, at Mary  Washington Hospital surrounded by his family. Wayne was born in Page County, VA on  July 1, 1947. He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas "Nick" Dovel; his parents, Amos S. Dovel and Mattie V. McCoy Dovel; and his six siblings, Lugene Dovel, Janie  Kennerly, Mary Vogan, Ralph Dovel, Norma Gotch, and James Kenneth Dovel. He is  survived by his wife, Bobbie Dovel, and his daughter Kelly Adams (Dean, Danielle and Syd), of Spotsylvania, VA.

Wayne was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served two years. He worked for over twenty years at the United States Postal Service in Fairfax, VA, retiring in 2002. He later moved with his wife from Woodbridge to Spotsylvania, VA.

Wayne was "one of a kind." He was an extremely intelligent man. He was financially  savvy, and a good provider for his family. More than anything, in the ways that he knew how to and could, he loved his Bobbie, Kelly, Nick, Danielle and Syd.

The family will hold a private service at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Spotsylvania, VA. Wayne will be buried near his beloved son, Nick. Please keep Wayne in your thoughts and prayers.
