Obituary

William Thomas Baldwin, 85, of Fredericksburg, passed away Wednesday August 24, 2011 at the Woodmont Center.
Mr. Baldwin a US WWII Marine Veteran with 19 years of service and was present at the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima, retired after 21 years of service as a Control Room Operator from Dominion Virginia Power, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Salem, OR #4. For many years he was know as the "Coin Man" since he was a coin dealer in Fredericksburg for many years. He was a recent resident at the Woodmont Center, Fredericksburg.
He is survived by his former wife and loving caretaker, Laura Embrey Baldwin,his daughter, Candy Burgess and her husband Randy, of Courtland, VA, Billy Thomas Baldwin III, of CA and Sonny T. Baldwin, CA; his step-children Gaynel McCary of NC, Cheryl McCary of TX, Joyette Cole, of FL and Daniel W. McCary, of Stafford; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and by his great-greatgranddaughter. He was predeceased by his son Thomas A. Baldwin.
Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 noon, Friday August 26, 2011 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Amos Healy will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
