William "Bill" Craton Simpson Jr., 85, of Fredericksburg, Va., affectionately known as "Sonny" and "Brother" by his family, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
Bill was born on Dec. 13, 1927 the only Son to William Craton and Lottie Ella (Drumheller) Simpson in Nelson Co. Va. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and worked for Horton's AMOCO as a Mechanic for 26 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude Irene Macklin Simpson and daughter, Amanda Louise Simpson Fisher and sisters, Sadie Hill, Helen Beach, Estelle Asvick and Rebecca Feaganes.
Bill is survived by his Daughters, Dixie Whalen of Fredericksburg Va.; Christine "Cricket" Helm and her husband Robert, of Locust Grove, Va.; Son, William Craton Chapel of Kokomo, In.; Sisters, Willie Feaganes of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Patricia Drummond and husband J.C. of Strasburg, Va. and Son-in-law Herbert "Andy" Fisher of Alexandria, Va.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, Sept, 3, 2013 at 11 AM at Laurel Hill Funeral Home.
